doesn't get any better than this.

when it comes to casual wear, it seems i'm lacking in the accessories/purse/bag department. whether i'm wearing sweats (which is rare!) or boyfriend jeans, or even gym clothes, i am always scrambling to find somewhere to store my wallet, keys, phone etc. i realized i'm missing a key accessory for an efficient wardrobe - the tote! i searched the web and narrowed my favorites down to the following five. the marc by marc jacobs nylon bag (my favorite of the bunch) is so versatile and not too hard on the wallet.

just received my online order from kalos along with another pair (orange!)... i ordered on their one year anniversary so they had a buy one get one free deal! the earrings are even more gorgeous in real life, and i will be sure to order more. i love how they blend into my hair... so fun. i wish everyone a safe & enjoyable weekend!

could be the fact that Tommy Hilfiger now has Peter Som on board as a design consultant, but the tommy x tommy hilfiger fall/winter line looks fresh & updated. TH has long been in need of a facelift, and i think that this collection will finally turn things around for the preppy American designer. light knits, cargo skinnies (very similar
to the j brand houlihan), breezy layers, two-tone denim = fall love.

during my online blogging/facebook creeping session the other day (hey - at least i can admit it!), i came across www.makefeathersnotwar.blogspot.com , where feathers, glass beads and vintage jewelry turn into amazing pieces of art.  "3 young girls started their feather business in the summer of 2009, let's just say they're very passionate about feathers, and making things" reads their profile on etsy, which currently offers 8 feathery items. more items are sold on kalos' website , as well as four store locations; 2 in the lower mainland, and 2 in kelowna.  personally, i rarely wear accessories, but after seeing what these girls have to offer, i will be ordering very shortly! so much talent in the dub r!

Yeah, but what is she doing for her female fans? 

a very valid article featured on rocker repro, suggesting that gaga isn't the feminist she portrays herself to be. i often feel that lady g can do no wrong, but having her picture taken by terry richardson (fashion's most notorious perv-tographer), makes me wonder if gaga practices what she preaches (in terms of feminism, being a role model for younger generations, etc). i do realize it may be tough to stand up for what you believe in when you are face to face with a very talented artist such as terry richardson. don't get me wrong - i do love his photography and the raw aesthetic within his art. But with past allegations of inappropriate sexual behaviour, especially with young models, he is not the person to be collaborating with when one, i.e. lady gaga, so strongly believes in women's rights.

something to ponder. now go outside and enjoy the sunshine, little monsters!
