jeffery campbell must-haves for summer 2010

i am not a "strictly-sandals" girl once summer hits.  i love boots with cut-offs, flats with rompers, platforms with just about anything... you get my drift. yeah, yeah, it gets a bit hot but that's what fashion is all about.

strut for a cure 2010

sorry for the lack of posts boys & girls... i just got back from hot and sticky toronto! not a big fan of coming home to rainy vancouver, but i guess the flowers needed some watering.

navy backless dress - 3.1 philip lim (thrifted), red jacket - thrifted, tan peeptoes - christian louboutin, ivory beaded clutch - vintage.

the main reason for the trip of course, was to attend the fabulous strut for a cure, put on by the beautiful coco rocha. we arrived to the venue right on time (i know, i know, our close friends will be shocked to hear this), and waited in a line filled with all kinds of fashion statements.  when we got in, we had some delicious appies and even more delicious wine.. schmoozed and talked about what people were wearing, etc. i felt right in my element! we got into the show with fashion magazine's beauty editor, as her "summer interns"...

with canada's anna wintour... the publisher for fashion magazine

the fashion show, featuring todd lynn's fall 2010 line, was simply amazing. lots of leather and fur, androgyny, beautifully cut fabrics and designs. my camera was on the wrong setting so my pictures didn't turn out.. rocha looked gorgeous, and was very gracious for the support and donations.

jet-setting tonight!

Strut for a Cure
off to the other side of canada to attend this wonderful event. haven't decided on shoes to wear but i'm sure things will all come together beautifully. will post when i'm back on friday!

what did they wear: sex and the city 2 premiere in NYC

from left:

Sarah Jessica Parker in Valentino
Kim Cattrall in Naeem Khan
Kristin Davis in Jean Desses
Cynthia Nixon in Carolina Herrera

although all four ladies look fabulous, i give two thumbs up to sjp, who whole-heartedly rocked the vibrant colour and flirty texture of her valentino gown.

next, i give you two examples of how wearing the wrong shoes can turn your outfit from hot to not.

dime piece designs

i caught on to dimepiece designs through vancouver-based
blog www.demicouture.com, where they featured new items for
summer 2010. although i may not be gusty enough to wear
entirely see-thru mesh, or tees with naked body print, i still like the
idea of a sort of in your face, sexy, rough around the edges-type of clothing line.
hailing from L.A. but available at adrenaline on granville, the label is accessible and affordable. gotta love getting more bang for your buck!

these are some recent ensembles that i love & have been
put together or captured (in the sartorialist's case),
by some of the net's best fashion bloggers.

i need these in my life.

halston heritage @ the bay

halston heritage has arrived at the bay! the iconic name behind many looks in the 70's has reinvented itself, becoming available & affordable while still maintaining that retro-chic appeal. sarah jessica parker has signed on as chief creative officer, and rocks halston heritage in sex & the city 2, which has garnered the label some extra attention. i love every piece, and will be visiting the bay on yonge street when i go to toronto in a week or so.
